Payroll Coordinator

We are a locally owned and operated recruitment company specializing in industrial labour staffing with operations throughout Atlantic Canada. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, well-organized individual to fill the position of Payroll Coordinator. This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Integrated Staffing Limited (ISL) office in downtown Dartmouth.

The Role: 

As Payroll Coordinator, you will act as the primary contact for all payroll inquiries, accurately entering weekly payroll hours submitted by our clients and temporary employees. You will be required to:
 

  •  Verify and process payroll batches;
  • Input direct deposit information and oversee process for all non-compliant employees;
  • Manage and prepare payroll garnishments;
  • Invoice generation and review across all branches;
  • Administer Record of Employment and annual T4 tax processes;
  • Investigate all payroll and invoicing discrepancies and corrections;
  • Generate and submit reports to management as required;
  • Maintain and monitor payroll controls and processes;
  • Other corporate services ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements: 

Our ideal Payroll Coordinator must have 1-2 years experience with payroll processing, and hold a college diploma in a related discipline. We are seeking an individual who is analytical with an advanced aptitude for numbers and details, and knows Excel inside and out. They must have strong self management and problem solving skills, while maintaining tact and diplomacy with confidential information. Experience with general accounting and/or a certified as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner would be considered an asset.
